Job summary

The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina is seeking a full-time academic orthopaedic hand surgeon to join our Upper Extremity Service. The clinical focus includes hand, micro, and nerve surgery; hand fellowship-trained applicants are encouraged to apply.

The position carries a primary appointment in Orthopaedics and will involve general orthopaedic call, trauma and microvascular reconstruction of the upper extremities.

Qualifications

• DO, MD, or equivalent.
• Completion of a one year Hand Fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Provide hand, micro, and nerve surgery in the Upper Extremity Service.
• Participate in education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Take general orthopaedic call; perform hand trauma and elective hand surgery.
• Engage in clinical, education, and research missions of the department.
