Job summary

The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon with specialization in hand and nerve surgery to join our Upper Extremity Service. The clinical focus for this position will be hand, micro, and nerve surgery.

Hand fellowship-trained applicants are encouraged to apply. The clinical position includes taking general orthopaedic call for the practice and will also include hand trauma, elective hand surgery,

Qualifications

• DO/MD or equivalent.
• One year Hand Fellowship completed.
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Provide hand, micro, and nerve surgery within the Upper Extremity Service.
• Take general orthopaedic call and manage hand trauma and elective cases.
• Participate in education of medical students, residents and fellows.
• Engage in research across clinical, outcomes, basic science, translational, ethics, education, or global surgery topics.
• Collaborate with rural referring hospitals to extend care.
