Qualifications

• MD or DO degree in obstetrics/gynecology.
• Residency completed or in final year.

• Experience and training in general obstetrics/gynecology.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology for the UWH group.
• Outpatient clinics and daytime hospitalist coverage.
• Labor and Delivery call shifts with compensation per shift.
• Block time for benign gynecologic surgery based on experience.
• Mentorship and teaching of medical students and residents.

Position Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health is recruiting three full-time Academic Generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologists. Appointments will be made at the Assistant or Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

Selected candidates will provide comprehensive clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology as part of the University Women's Health (UWH) group, the largest division within the Department, with more than 16 faculty members.

Faculty responsibilities include:

Clinical Care

• Specific clinical assignments can be designed based on interest, experience, and training.
• Outpatient clinics
• Daytime Hospitalist coverage of both obstetric and gynecologic services in collaboration with UWH faculty
• Scheduled Labor and Delivery call shifts, ranging from 1-4 shifts per month, with additional compensation per shift
• Block time availability for benign gynecologic surgery, determined based on experience and training
• Surgical mentorship available for interested faculty

Teaching & Mentorship

• Direct supervision and teaching of medical students and residents in clinic, Labor and Delivery, the operating room, and inpatient wards
• Participation in curriculum development and educational activities is strongly encouraged

Academic Service & Scholarship

• Participation in scholarly projects, quality improvement initiatives, and/or research
• Active involvement in committee work and University service

This recruitment is conducted at the assistant/associate rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant/associate rank, regardless of the proposed appointee's qualifications.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency (or currently in the final year)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Eligible for California medical licensure
• Experience and training both from residency and post graduate training in general obstetrics and gynecology
• Ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a diverse academic environment
