Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an academic clinical pathologist to join the Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine as Director of the Clinical Coagulation and Hemostasis section. The role combines medical oversight with leadership across La Jolla Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and CALM, including outreach programs.

The successful candidate will oversee diagnostics, promote quality and patient safety, and provide consultative services to support complex clinical programs,

Qualifications

• Leadership in clinical coagulation and hemostasis laboratory services.
• Experience teaching medical students and residents in pathology.
• Academic physician-scientist or physician with leadership credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and technical oversight for general and specialized coagulation and hemostasis labs.
• Develop, validate and implement novel diagnostic tests and profiles.
• Support patient care with interpretative consultations across UC San Diego Health.
