Detroit Community Schools in Detroit, MI is seeking a full-time Academic Dean to lead curriculum, instruction, and assessment across the district. The role partners with teachers and administrators to raise instructional quality and student achievement, while fostering an inclusive learning environment.

The Academic Dean will guide curriculum standards, coordinate professional development, supervise evaluations, and support data-driven decision making to improve outcomes for all students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field (Ed.D./Ph.D. preferred)
• State certification and eligibility to obtain certification (MI)
• Minimum 5+ years in K-12 education with curriculum development and leadership

Responsabilités

• Lead curriculum standards and educational policies aligned with guidelines
• Foster innovative teaching and assessment practices with technology
• Coach and mentor teaching staff for collaboration and excellence
• Organize professional development and peer observation programs
• Monitor student performance data to inform instructional practice
• Collaborate on budgeting and resource allocation for academic programs
• Support school policies related to academic affairs
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
