Job summary

University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine seeks a faculty colorectal surgeon to practice within UT Health East Texas facilities. The role includes academic duties and educating residents and fellows as part of the Department of Surgery.

Requirements include an MD/DO, board eligibility/certification in General Surgery, fellowship in colon and rectal surgery, and Texas medical licensure. Laparoscopic/robotic expertise preferred for a comprehensive surgical program.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board-Certified or eligible in General Surgery.
• Completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of appointment.
• Eligible for a Texas Medical License.
• Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide colorectal surgical procedures at a high-functioning Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School of Medicine, including medical education of residents and fellows.
• Commitment to patient care, resident, fellow and medical student education and scholarly activity.
• Educate general surgery residents and colorectal surgery fellows.
