Job summary

Dell Medical School, part of The University of Texas at Austin, seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the inpatient team at Dell Children's Medical Center. The role combines clinical care for ages 6-17 in a trauma-informed, family-centered, multidisciplinary model with opportunities in education and scholarly activity.

This 0.5 FTE inpatient psychiatry position, plus 0.5 FTE aligned with interests (outpatient or CL psychiatry), offers collaboration with

Qualifications

• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas or ability to obtain before appointment.
• Board certified in general psychiatry and board-certified or board-eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry with commitment to certification within 2 years of fellowship.
• Eligible for credentialing and privileging by Ascension Seton and local mental health authority.
• Appointment as Assistant Professor or higher in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
• Demonstrated leadership, teaching, evaluation, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate others; strong teamwork and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise to evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of pediatric mental health conditions (ages 6-17).
• Collaborate closely with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other professionals; participate in on-call coverage.
• Engage in education across disciplines, including students, residents, fellows, and trainees.
• Contribute to innovative clinical programming, quality improvement, and team-based research.
