Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs, NMVAHCS in Albuquerque, NM seeks an Anesthesiologist to deliver comprehensive perioperative care. The position supports academic study with potential clinical appointments at the University of New Mexico and mentorship opportunities within a collegial anesthesia service.

Responsibilities include preoperative optimization, intraoperative management, postoperative ICU care, and extensive pain management across subspecialties.

Qualifications

• Extensive preoperative optimization of surgical patients.
• Intraoperative management including ERAS pathways.
• Postoperative care in surgical ICU and pain management.
• Ability to mentor CRNAs and residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for a variety of subspecialties including cardiothoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, colorectal, orthopedics, podiatry, gastroenterology, cardiology, pain, interventional radiology, pulmonary.
• Supervise CRNAs and residents with some opportunity to personally perform cases.
• Deliver safe, high-quality anesthetic care to veterans.
