Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Support, Academic & Transfer Counselors (part-time seasonal), work in the Academic Advising & Transfer Center. These positions are highly collaborative, working closely with faculty advisors, professional advisors, support program advisors and coaches to provide student support for registration, retention, student success, transfer and/or completion. The Academic & Transfer Counselors (part-time seasonal) work collaboratively to ensure students are provided with individualized, holistic and proactive academic, career and transfer counseling and support. This position focuses on a flexible delivery model of drop-in and group advising services during periods of high advising and course registration demand. These positions work regularly with enrollment services including, but not limited to admissions, testing and assessment center, student financial services, the student success center, and disability services.
The Academic & Transfer Counselors (part-time seasonal), are responsible for:

Works in an office setting. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The individual needs to move about inside the office to access office machinery. Constantly operates a computer and other equipment i.e. copier. This person frequently communicates with students, faculty and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Salary: $36.55 per hour. Interval 1 per MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement. https://www.mass.edu/forfacstaff/classificationspecs/home.asp. Up to 18.5 hours per week (Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm, Fridays 8 am - 4 pm) during peak periods of registration. Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as demand dictates.
