  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama.
  • Two years of professional accounting experience.
  • A master’s degree in accounting may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various accounting functions for the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Maintains financial records of assigned activities.
  • Reviews personnel paperwork for accuracy to include EPAFs and PAs and works with departments to correct any errors.
  • Runs processes and reports in Banner related to paying part-time faculty (FLAC) and communicates with colleges to correct errors.
  • Reviews and approves requests for changes to the chart of accounts for the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • Assists in financial analysis as directed by management including balancing and reconciliation.
  • Reconciles monthly department transactions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting
Master's degree in accounting (substitution for experience)
