Position Summary:

The College of Arts & Science is seeking a talented Academic Advisor to join the New Students team. The Academic Advisor for New Students is a member of the College Advising Team. Reporting to the Associate Director of New Students, this position advises a significant cohort of undergraduate students, assists with the planning and development of signature advising programs and is responsible for supporting and collaborating on initiatives designed around augmenting the new student experience.

Qualifications:

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts discipline or relevant field.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Experience

3+ years of relevant experience in advising, including programming development and implementation.

Preferred Experience

5+ years of related experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to advise and support diverse student populations and have a strong commitment to liberal arts education. Ability to communicate effectively to individuals at all levels.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
