Job summary

Georgia State University’s Enrollment Services, University Advisement Center, is hiring multiple Academic Advisor I positions at our Atlanta Campus. You will conduct individual and group academic advisement, help interpret policies, and assist with educational planning to support student success.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills, with experience in student retention or advising preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; or a combination of education and related experience.
• Preference may be given to those with a bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with student retention or student affairs programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience presenting to groups or with group facilitation
• Experience following up on problems until resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, educational planning and policy interpretation to prospective and current students.
• Conduct student outreach, retention, and case management activities
• Review, maintain, and audit student records as was as monitor degree progression,
