Job summary

Doane University seeks an Academic Advisor/Career Specialist in Lincoln, NE to guide current and prospective students, especially transfer students, through academic planning and program choices across modalities. You will collaborate with Advising and Registrar teams to support enrollment, student success, and career outcomes.

You will coach students on career searches, resume/cover letters, interview prep, and graduate school applications, while building employer relationships to connect

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, relationship-building, and time management skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• The ability to use a variety of technology platforms is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Advise current and prospective students in one or more majors with a focus on transferring students and Lincoln/Online programs.
• Manage student and credit transfer information and processes as part of Advising and Registrar teams.
• Coordinate academic program planning in-person, drop-in, and online appointments, by phone and email.
• Coach students in career searches, interview preparation, and resume/cover letter development; guide graduate school applications.
• Engage with employers to build connections to Doane University under Employer Relations.
