Job Description SummaryThe Academic Advisor provides academic advising to undergraduate students majoring in or minoring in History, assists with related academic administrative matters andsupports various special programs within the Department.Examples of work include meeting with undergraduate majors each semester to discuss course selection, degree requirements, academic progress and graduation planning; reviewing academic records and remove advising holds to enable students to register for courses; and representing the Department of History at orientation programs by presenting information about the major, degree requirements, academic opportunities and departmental resources.Physical Demands: Typical office environment requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. May occasionally require some walking to different locations on campus for meetings.
