Job summary

Marist University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Academic Advising. This role reports to the Executive Director, Academic Advising and coordinates a coherent program for undergraduate students.

The Coordinator will advise students individually and in groups, develop advising curricula and materials, and collaborate with school-based centers to promote student retention and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Experience with Banner processing and Microsoft Word suite, including Outlook required.
• 1 to 3 years experience in academic advising, academic support services, or related field required.
• Strong interpersonal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supporting students through scheduled and walk-in support, focusing on students transitioning between majors or academic schools.
• Organizing and delivering advising skill presentations and workshops for students and advisors to enhance advising knowledge and capacity.
• Collaborating with the School-Based Advising Centers to develop communicating materials about advising and programs.
• Coordinating with CAAS Director to transition students between advising and academic support interventions when necessary.
• Administering proactive advising practices and campaigns to identify and support students facing academic challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.
