Job description

PITT's highly acclaimed Department of Occupational Therapy offers four degree programs. Our entry-level degree program is currently ranked #1 in the nation according to the latest surveys of Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report. Our faculty, staff, and students help shape the future of occupational therapy through research and service on national and regional professional committees and our students give back to the community by engaging in a variety of community service activities.

PITT Occupational Therapy is seeking an Academic Administrator to assist in developing and managing all aspects of multiple educational degree programs within the Department of Occupational Therapy, including admissions and current student academic activities for the OTD and MS programs. The position manages the technological functions of educational courses, preparing classroom technology and working closely with faculty to ensure course technology is ready for use, and communicates with faculty regarding course content. The Administrator assists in compiling exam information for faculty, including printing and scoring exams. The individual in this role acts as a liaison between faculty and students, resolving problems quickly and confidentially that may arise with students. The Administrator maintains and tracks FERPA-protected student data, including information required for fieldwork, utilizing multiple specialized systems (Exxat, Qualtrics, CAS, SLATE, Tableau, and PeopleSoft). The role also collects student data for multiple educational requirements, including data required by ACOTE accreditation, and participates in school committees. In addition, the role coordinates closely with the Program Directors for the OTD and MS programs and the OTD Assistant Program Director on academic related initiatives and special projects. The role serves as the primary administrative liaison to the Dean's office, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, and fieldwork sites. The Administrator exercises independent judgment on accreditation-required actions and interacts with confidentiality-sensitive matters with minimal day-to-day oversight, independently corresponding with 300+ fieldwork sites to ensure documentation required by ACOTE accreditation remains current. This position requires a candidate with a positive attitude, good communication skills, willingness to work in a team, and continuous improvement mindset.

Required: Bachelor's Degree and 1 year relevant experience.

Preferred: Demonstrated proficiency with Exxat (or comparable fieldwork/agreement management database), Qualtrics, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office; experience handling FERPA-protected records and accreditation-related documentation preferred.
