Job summary

Bearcat Transportation seeks an experienced CDL A tanker driver to transport asphalt cement oil from refinery to asphalt plant across local routes in Oregon. You will perform inspections, maintain logs, and operate trucks safely while upholding company policies.

This position will transport asphalt cement oil from refinery to asphalt plant.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
• A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license, tanker and HAZMAT endorsement.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections on equipment.
• Maintain a driver’s daily log.
• Maintain a clean truck appearance by complying with Bearcat Transportation’s operational policies, procedures and standards.
• Safely operate and maintain truck.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
• Properly load, secure & unload material.
• Accurately complete load tickets where applicable.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
