Job summary

Bearcat Transportation is hiring a CDL A truck driver responsible for daily inspections, safe operation, and timely delivery of materials. You will perform pre/post-trip checks, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with safety policies. Endorsements for tanker and HazMat are preferred, as is a valid DOT medical card.

Route includes loading/unloading and interaction with customers and co-workers. We value reliability, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license with tanker and hazmat endorsements is required.
• DOT medical exam card must be current.
• Maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment inspections and site checks to identify unsafe conditions.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Maintain the driver’s daily log.
• Keep truck clean and presentable per company policies.
• Safely operate and maintain the vehicle.
• Ensure safety policies and environmental regulations are followed.
• Load and unload material securely and accurately.
• Complete load tickets where applicable.
• Communicate effectively with team and customers under stress.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production or equipment issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
• A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license, tanker and HAZMAT endorsement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections on equipment.
• Maintain a driver's daily log.
• Maintain a clean truck appearance by complying with Bearcat Transportation's operational policies, procedures and standards.
• Safely operate and maintain truck.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
• Properly load, secure & unload material.
• Accurately complete load tickets where applicable.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
