Job summary

AHC Hospitality is hiring a full-time Room Attendant in Grand Rapids, MI. You will clean guest rooms to meet the brand's 96% cleanliness standard and complete daily tasks efficiently, while maintaining interdepartmental relations and delivering guest services.

You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work weekends, and stay flexible with shifts. The role includes employee meals, parking discounts, and staff discounts on hotel and restaurant services.

This is a full-time position with 1st shift hours. Must be available to work weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

The room attendant is a key individual in achieving the quality requirements of the guest rooms that are set forth in the brand standards of the property to ensure guest satisfaction. The room attendant must ensure that each room meets a 96% quality expectation in a timely manner. They must also ensure all service standards for the property are met in addition to meeting budgetary goals and maintaining interdepartmental relations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bend, stoop, stand, and walk long distances for the duration of the shift
• Be able to lift at least 50lbs
• Must be reliable and flexible with schedule; willing to work weekends and holidays; willingness to work mid-shift periodically on a rotated basis to accommodate late departures.
• Must be able to complete 14 vacant dirty rooms with-in 8-hour shift

• Must be able to complete standards according to established procedures

• Must keep cart clear of unapproved items to avoid damage
• Must ensure service standards are met consistently
• Must ensure expectations for personal morale are upheld
• Report to work on time with proper uniform. Personal appearance must comply with the standard of the hotel
• Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicates with management and other staff members
• Participate in hotel mandated trainings and meetings as determined by leadership
• Incorporate AC service mantras and ideals into all functions of the job duties.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Clean all areas of the guest room as determined by the detailed training outline
• Clean checkouts at a 30 minute per room pace
• Clean stayovers at a 20 minute per room pace
• Deliver all guest requests within 15 minutes
• Work independently in assigned work area (as determined by daily assignment paperwork) to complete the predetermined workload which can range up to 19 rooms per shift.
• Report maintenance issues in rooms to housekeeping supervisor
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and housemen on needs and progress
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
• Ensure a clean and neat work area at all times (Work area does include cleanliness of your cart)
