Job Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned goals related to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will solicit and secure new accounts and work with the Director of Sales to meet revenue and market share targets for one or more properties. Sales focus may vary based on the property, such as Leisure, Business Travel, Group, or SMERF. Management-level associates are expected to work as much as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities; OEM associates are eligible for overtime, which is calculated accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; previous hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Experience with professional selling techniques: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate strong organization and presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and revenue goals, including solicitation call objectives.
  • Conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertain clients in Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and/or Groups segments.
  • Develop and grow relationships with existing accounts.
  • Monitor market trends within your segment.
  • Maintain a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented approach with guests and staff.
  • Follow Aimbridge Hospitality’s regulations, standards, and sales metrics.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations and policies.
  • Maintain visibility in the local community and industry organizations.
  • Participate in promotions like sales blitzes.
  • Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Additional duties include access to back-of-house areas, interaction with guests and colleagues, and driving safely for business purposes. The role requires maintaining trust, exercising sound judgment, and representing the company’s reputation.
