Job summary

ABX Air, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher to handle domestic and international flight release, weather briefings, fuel planning, payload calculations, and in‑flight monitoring. You will liaison with System Control, Maintenance Control and crews to resolve deviations and ensure operational readiness.

The role requires at least 1 year in flight operations with a 121 carrier, plus a Dispatcher’s license and strong FAR knowledge. Flexibility for shift variations is essential to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Must have HSD/GED.
• Dispatcher's License.
• 1 year experience in flight operations with a 121 carrier, including 1 year as a Dispatcher.
• Advanced knowledge of aviation weather reports and their impact on flight operations.
• FAR Parts 121 and 91 airport operations and emergency procedures experience.
• Able to communicate and coordinate deviations with multiple teams.
• Flexible schedule to include varying shifts and days off.

Responsibilities

• Prepare domestic and international flight release documentation.
• Conduct weather observations and briefings for flights.
• Determine and order fuel; calculate payload for flights.
• Monitor in-flight operations and debrief flights on completion.
• Ensure all assigned flights are prepared and compliant.
• Coordinate deviations with System Control, Maintenance Control and crews.

What you need:

• Advanced level of understanding and knowledge of the following: interpreting aviation weather reports and their impact on flight operations, aircraft performance, limitations and systems and their applicability, Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 121 and 91 airport operations, emergency procedures concerning mechanical failures, hijackings, bomb threats, aircraft accidents, incidents, etc., air traffic control system and procedures

Preferred Skills:

• College level courses on specialized training in the aviation field
• Private pilot's license

The Dispatcher will be responsible for domestic and international flight release preparation; weather observations; prepare weather briefings; determine and order fuel; calculate payload; in-flight monitoring and debrief each flight; ensure all flights assigned are prepared; advise of any operational problems pertaining to assigned flights; communicate and coordinate deviations to plan with System Control, Maintenance Control and crews; coordinate operations with Airport Management, customers, and handlers; able work variable schedule to include 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, with variable days off during the week.
