Alera Group is seeking an Absence and Disability Consultant to work remotely in the United States. The role partners with employers, carriers, TPAs, and other industry players to address absence and disability challenges, PFML, accommodations, and return-to-work strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in absence management, disability, or PFML roles.
• Experience with consulting, brokers, carriers, TPAs, or related suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, state leave, ADA, and accommodations.
• Experience with PFML programs and coordination with disability and payroll.
• Ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Solid project-management and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead defined client project workstreams: planning, data gathering, analysis, and deliverables.
• Assess operations, leave admin, claims handling, and service delivery.
• Conduct interviews, benchmarking, and translate findings into insights.
• Support product/service design, pricing, and implementation approaches.
• Develop executive-level presentations and market studies.
• Engage in client meetings and build trusted relationships.
• Identify opportunities and contribute to proposals and scopes.
