Job summary

MSC Industrial Direct Co.,Inc. is seeking an Abrasives Specialist to support field sales efforts across multiple southeastern states.

The role focuses on applying technical solutions for abrasives opportunities, collaborating with suppliers, and driving productivity improvements for customer operations. The position requires hands-on machining experience or MW application know-how, plus the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on machining applications experience or demonstrated MW applications proficiency.
• Engineering education, experience or background preferred.
• Expertise in the current abrasive portfolio and systems.
• Experience in abrasive product training and safely demonstrating abrasive systems.
• Experience with abrasive-specific industrial safety regulations.
• Experience in interacting and helping maintain key accounts.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Manufacturing process experience preferred.
• Previous field sales experience with an industrial distributor or Abrasives manufacturer preferred.
• Previous experience with machining productivity improvement or cost savings initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of Abrasives sales and gross margin goals for the geographical area.
• Collaborate with Category Strategy to execute Abrasive growth programs and New Product Introduction strategies.
• Support accelerated Abrasives sales growth with strategic suppliers.
• Assist with testing new products within target markets.
• Drive cost savings within core and National Account MW customers for market share gains.
• Maintain an Abrasives Opportunity Funnel in Salesforce to track progress.
