The Fund for Public Health in New York City seeks a New York Abortion Access Hub Navigator to support referrals and needs assessments for abortion services across New York State. You will conduct brief interviews, determine needs, and connect individuals with care, financial assistance, and other resources in a confidential, empathetic manner.

Must have health-related experience or public health training, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a diverse, crisis-oriented

Qualifikationen

• Health-related professional experience or public health training.
• Ability to demonstrate a professional, positive attitude and work ethic.
• Understanding of institutional racism and bias and their impact on underserved communities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse backgrounds during crisis.
• Commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression.
• Empathy and nonjudgmental approach to distressed individuals.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Experience navigating data systems with confidentiality.
• English language proficiency required; Spanish preferred.
• Background check is required.

Aufgaben

• Respond to telephone calls and online chats with information or referrals to abortion services.
• Complete brief scripted interviews and needs assessments.
• Determine abortion needs, location, date/time, and insurance details.
• Assess if additional funding or support is required (transportation, childcare, housing).
• Provide warm handoff to appropriate providers.
• Reinforce that abortion is safe, legal, and available in New York.
• Connect callers to care providers, navigators, financial assistance, and other resources.
• Maintain privacy and professional conduct; document information in data systems.
