Job summary

Pittsfield Public Schools' William Stickney Pittsfield Adult Learning Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts seeks an ABE ESOL teacher for beginner/intermediate levels, 14 hours weekly, Monday to Thursday mornings.

Required: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree and MA DESE teaching certification preferred; two+ years in Adult Basic Education; familiarity with BestPlus, CLAS‑E, MAELPs, LACES, and Google Classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and MA DESE Teacher Certification preferred.
• Two or more years of teaching experience in an Adult Basic Education setting or comparable environment.
• Familiarity with BestPlus and CLAS-E assessments; knowledge of MAELPs standards; data management systems and LMS familiarity.

The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students.
