Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a Teacher Special Education at ABC Elementary in Texas to deliver instruction across academic, behavioral, social, and self-care skills for students with disabilities in a highly structured environment.

You will implement IEPS and behavioral plans, collaborate with general education staff, use data-driven progress monitoring, and apply evidence-based strategies to support students’ learning and growth in a compliant classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Texas Education Agency teaching certification appropriate to assignment.
• Valid Special Education Certification EC-12 or EC-12 Specialist.
• De-Escalation/Restraint CPI certification preferred or required.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons based on student needs and IEP goals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students with varying disabilities in alignment with IEP goals.
• Prepare sequential, standards-aligned lesson plans and organize materials.
• Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as outlined in ARD/IEPs.
• Document progress using data collection tools and maintain accurate records.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support learning.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement IEPs and accommodations.
• Support basic personal care needs as required by students.
• Stay current on TEKS and prerequisite skills for assigned grade levels.
• Participate in ARD meetings and required district processes.
