Job summary

Kids for the Future in Wisconsin seeks an ABB Robotic Programmer to develop, program, and commission robotic systems for complex automation projects.

You will work with mechanical, electrical and controls teams, ensuring reliable integration with PLCs and automation controls, documenting configurations and deliverables for client success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on ABB robot programming experience.
  • Proficiency in ABB RobotStudio and RAPID programming.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley or similar).
  • Robotic Welding and Robot Vision experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, motion control, and safety systems.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize ABB robot programs using ABB RobotStudio and RAPID programming.
  • Integrate robotic systems with PLCs and automation controls, ensuring seamless communication between devices.
  • Support system design, simulation, testing, and debugging throughout project development.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve robotic and system integration issues both in-house and at customer facilities.
  • Perform initial setup and system configuration for ABB Robotic systems and third-party software.
  • Document programs, system configurations, and project deliverables to meet company and customer standards.

Requirements
  • B achelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience programming ABB robots in industrial automation environments.
  • Proficiency in ABB RobotStudio and RAPID programming is required.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley or similar) required.
  • Robotic Welding and Robot Vision experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, motion control, and safety systems.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
