Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid Level S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support an SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation project for a large government contract. As a Mid-Level Developer, you will actively participate in every stage of the application lifecycle, from design to deployment.

This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance. SMX does not sponsor new employment authorization; selected applicant may undergo background checks.

Qualifications

• Implementation experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Proficiency in web services, proxies, and APIs for system integration.
• Technical expertise with ABAP technologies: Reports, RFCs, Forms, OOP, BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, and Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning of ABAP programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Public Trust clearance and US citizenship.
• Ability to self-learn new UI technologies with minimal supervision.

SMX is seeking Mid Level S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developers to support an SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation project for a large government contract. As a Mid-Level Developer, you will actively participate in every stage of the application lifecycle, from design to deployment. This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for translating user requirements into Technical Design Specifications and developing ABAP solutions that align with these designs. Additionally, you may lead or mentor other developers, promote maintainable development practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Due to contract requirements, this position requires U.S. citizenship and the successful completion of a background check prior to onboarding. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
• Years of SAP ABAP development and overall SAP experience: 3-5 years for mid-level, 6+ years for senior level.
• Experience with S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience integrating backend SAP and non SAP applications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development and HANA CDS Views.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Implementation experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

• Technical expertise and hands-on experience with a wide range of ABAP technologies, including Reports, RFCs, Forms, Object-Oriented ABAP (OOP), BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, and Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning of ABAP programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Public Trust clearance
• Ability to self-learn new technologies in the UI space with minimal direction and supervision.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Certifications in Application Development, SAP BTP, or Agile methodologies.

The proposed salary for this position is:

$96,400—$160,600 USD
