Job summary

State of Missouri, Department of Natural Resources seeks an engineer to develop detailed plans for Abandoned Mine Lands reclamation, coordinating with landowners and AML teams to meet reclamation goals. Plans must be stamped by a Professional Engineer.

The role uses AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and Global Mapper for design, includes site surveys, supervising crews, and reviewing coal permit actions. A ABET-accredited engineering degree with four years of experience is required.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree with at least four years of engineering experience.
  • MUST be able to stamp and sign Professional Engineer plans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design detailed AML reclamation plans meeting landowner needs using grading, drainage, spillway design and survey coordination.
  • Design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and Global Mapper with site survey data collection.
  • Coordinate with AML team and landowners to outline the scope of work and adjust designs to meet reclamation goals.
  • Direct and coordinate construction and survey crews to ensure the design is implemented as intended.
  • Perform reviews of coal permit applications and actions as assigned by the unit supervisor.
  • Occasional travel for onsite inspections, data collection, and construction meetings.
