Job summary

Bierman Autism Centers is seeking a Behavior Technician/ABA Therapist to join our Rhode Island team. You will deliver one‑on‑one ABA therapy to children aged 2–12, support skill development, and contribute to a fun, engaging clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or obtain RBT certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to lift and carry clients who are at least 30 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan.
• Must be able to assume and maintain various postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending, for extended periods.
• Must be able to walk and run to chase clients and maintain a three‑foot distance at all times.
• Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1:1 therapy with clients.
• Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plans.
• Collect and record data, and write therapy notes for each session.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding the client’s progress (with guidance from the BCBA).
• Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials.
• Maintain and acquire functional and technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
• Follow the guidelines set forth by the BACB.
• Work towards becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), if not one already.
• Foster a positive working environment, maintaining good vibes.
