Behavior Technicians utilize and apply Applied Behavioral Analysis principles to clients with autism and related diagnoses in the home, community, and school settings. ABA therapy involves psychological and educational techniques tailored to each client's needs. The behavior technician aims to motivate clients through positive reinforcement and teaching replacement strategies for challenging behaviors. ABA therapy has been shown to enhance socialization, play, and communication skills while reducing challenging behaviors.
This position may require the behavior technician to intervene and decrease physically challenging behaviors such as aggression and self-injury, always upholding client dignity and communicating respectfully.
