Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required
• Master's Degree strongly preferred
• Experience working with Special Education Autistic Support required
• Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) required

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) addressing the specific needs of students; complete Re‑Evaluation Reports (RR) as needed for student programming.
• Use principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive replacement behaviors and extinguish negative behaviors as developed in students' IEPs.
• Assist staff with de‑escalation techniques, management strategies, and the implementation of positive behavior support plans (PBSP).
• Responsible for designing and implementing a verbal‑behavior model of instruction for students in an autistic support classroom.
• Work collaboratively with behavior professionals, speech and language therapists, occupational therapist, physical therapists and other related service providers to target all areas of students' needs.
• Administer assessments like the VB‑MAPP, assist with assessments like Functional Behavioral Assessments and SETT evaluations, develop individualized programming based on daily data, and maintain daily records to support verbal‑behavior teaching methods.
• Prepare classroom observation records, instructional data, progress reports, report cards, and other educational documents.
