Job summary

The Boston Public Schools seek a Paraprofessional to fill a temporary position supporting ABA-related instruction at Higginson-Lewis 3-8 in Boston. The assignment covers a paraprofessional on leave and ends on 12/3/2026 when the current paraprofessional returns.

The role reports to the Principal/Head of School and involves assisting teachers, preparing instructional materials, and supervising students within a structured setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 credits or an associate's degree or ParaPro/WorkKeys certification.
• Minimum of two years experience with young children.
• US work authorization by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
