Job summary

Youth Consultation Service in Montclair is seeking a Teacher Aide to support the Sawtelle Learning Center, which serves students with autistic spectrum disorder ages 3-21. The program uses ABA techniques with 3-3.5 hours of individualized instruction daily and maintains a high staff-to-student ratio to ensure structured learning.

Responsibilities include classroom support, supervision, and assisting with centers under the Teacher's guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 60+ college credits or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Teacher aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting school with all aspects of classroom responsibilities and supervision of students during the school day. School hours are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Mon-Fri.
• Providing quality daily care and supervision of students.
• Assisting with learning centers and any other designated classroom activities with the supervision of the Teacher.
• Staff will be expected to assist the students’ development and trust in adults, through the use of positive reinforcement and praise.
• Attend all school in-services and professional development
