Job summary

Youth Consultation Service (YCS) seeks Teacher Aide's for Sawtelle Learning Center in Montclair. The program serves students with autism spectrum disorder, ages 3-21, using ABA-based instruction and small student-to-staff ratios. Daily duties include classroom support, supervising students from 8:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m. Mon-Fri, assisting with learning centers, and promoting student development through positive reinforcement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Teacher aide experience preferred.
• 60+ college credits or a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Sub Cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting school with all aspects of classroom responsibilities and supervision of students during the school day. School hours are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Mon-Fri.
• Providing quality daily care and supervision of students.
• Assisting with learning centers and any other designated classroom activities with the supervision of the Teacher.
• Staff will be expected to assist the students’ development and trust in adults, through the use of positive reinforcement and praise.
• Attend all school in-services and professional development

Education

YCS is currently seeking Teacher Aide's to service Sawtelle Learning Center in Montclair.

The YCS Sawtelle Learning Center offers outstanding educational and related services for students with autistic spectrum disorder, ages 3-21. The schools offer a high degree of structure, excellent staff to student ratio and the systematic use of behavioral teaching techniques. Every aspect of the student’s day incorporates the theories of applied behavior analysis (ABA) with an average of 3-3.5 hours of individualized instruction (discrete trial teaching) per day.

Duties Include:

• Assisting school with all aspects of classroom responsibilities and supervision of students during the school day. School hours are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Mon-Fri.
