Job summary

Lilac Learning Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Behavior Technician to work one-on-one with students using applied behavior analysis to build skills and communication. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with pay at $23.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Training is provided and growth in behavior analysis or special education is supported. You will collect data, follow each student’s BIP, and collaborate with teachers, BCBA, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with children (K–12 preferred).
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Ability to work as part of a team and make good independent calls.
• Patience, follow-through, and composure under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete 40-hour training in first week (training stipend).
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Food Handler’s Card within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one and small group instruction using BCBA/teacher plans.
• Run teaching trials and help students build new skills.
• Follow each student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
• Collect and record accurate data on skills and behavior.
• Use Safety-Care procedures when physical support is needed.
• Prepare meals and snacks; deliver medications when assigned.
• Keep student information confidential and treat every student with dignity.
• Communicate student progress to teachers and BCBA.
• Support Lead Technician with prep and indirect tasks.
• Prepare materials and assessment drafts.
• Collaborate with parents and outside professionals as part of the treatment team.
• Maintain a clean, safe space and, when needed, drive company vehicles.
