Job summary

Springfield School District 186 is seeking a Behavior Technician/Registered Behavior Technician to support students with Autism in classrooms and 1:1 settings. The position includes training, supervision, and data collection as part of a collaborative ABA team.

The role requires RBT certification (or willingness to complete district-provided coursework within 90 days), a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication skills. Training stipends and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to complete district coursework within 90 days.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required RBT coursework and pass RBT exam within 90 days if not currently RBT.
• Complete 40-hour coursework on personal time; district pays but must be completed on personal time.
• Participate in competency/skill practice with district BCBA's; 5% of hours supervised by BCBA.
• Work with BCBAs to provide ABA services in classroom and 1:1 settings.
• Collect data daily on behavior and skill acquisition goals.
• Implement ABA strategies with fidelity and model STAR curriculum.
