This position provides a variety of services to students in classroom and school-based environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delay, or Emotional/Behavioral Disorders in educational settings.
  • Training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or willingness to be trained.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, special education, psychology, or related fields, with training in ABA. Currently enrolled candidates are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with Language Arts, Mathematics, and content relevant to the student's educational level, including curriculum modification aligned with Massachusetts Frameworks.
  • Implement academic, social, language, and behavioral programs using ABA methodology.
  • Create teaching materials aligned with programming.
  • Assist in functional assessment and modify programs based on feedback from behavior analysts.
  • Maintain program documentation and visually represent progress weekly.
  • Support students during transitions and social interactions throughout the school day, including potential home-based or extended services.
  • Assist with supervision duties like recess and lunch.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.
  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to respond physically to student needs, including using restraints if necessary.
  • Respond to students who bolt from the building.
  • Maintain a safe environment, including moving furniture in crises.
  • Lift or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly.
