Rivermont Schools in Roanoke, VA, seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support students ages 6–21 with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You will deliver ABA-based instruction and lead IEP planning in collaboration with a clinical team.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia license with Special Education endorsement and have experience with IEPs, PBS, and data-driven progress. Transportation and a supportive, growth-oriented environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• Active Virginia DOE license with endorsement in Special Education (Adapted Curriculum or General Curriculum) — or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 1 year of classroom experience supporting students with autism, EBD, or related disabilities (student teaching counts)
• Familiarity with IEP development, ABA principles, and positive behavior support strategies
• Valid Virginia driver's license

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction across core academic subjects for a class of 4–8 students (ages 6–21) using individualized ABA-based lesson plans
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA; lead or co-lead IEP meetings with families and district representatives
• Apply Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies; collect and analyze daily behavioral and academic data
• Collaborate with BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists embedded in the building
• Maintain compliance documentation and communication logs in line with state and accreditation requirements
