Job summary

Visual Concepts' Novato studio seeks a UI Artist to contribute to the NBA 2K franchise. You will apply traditional art training and UI/graphic design skills to build a visually compelling, user-friendly interface.

You will collaborate with UI designers and engineers to integrate assets in the game engine using Maya and proprietary tools, and contribute to motion graphics and visual effects to enhance the user experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years crafting commercial user interface designs, ideally for AAA titles.
• Familiarity with 3D software such as Maya, Cinema 4D, or other industry-standard tools.
• Experience working with modern game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) and implementing UI assets in them.
• Proficiency with industry standard 2D graphics applications and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma).
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, composition, color theory and visual hierarchy.
• Awareness of current trends in UI design, tools and technologies to continuously improve quality.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement high-quality UI assets that align with the game’s art direction.
• Work with a team of UI Designers and engineers to integrate UI assets into the game engine using Maya and proprietary tools.
• Contribute to motion graphics and visual effects that elevate the user experience.
• Participate in design reviews, provide and incorporate feedback from playtests.
