Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Mechanical Assembler V – Group Lead for our Foley, Alabama OEM site. This senior, hands-on role leads complex assembly, mentors teammates, and serves as a technical resource to the team and site leadership.

You will guide daily production, interpret blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 6+ years of aerospace experience is preferred.
• 2+ years aerospace manufacturing experience and ability to read drawings/blueprints.
• 2+ years using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• 1+ year in Continuous Improvement tools or methodologies.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring others in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical assembly, rework, and repair on aerospace components per specs.
• Serve as working Group Lead, guiding assemblers and coordinating daily priorities.
• Interpret blueprints and work instructions; mentor teammates on assembly methods.
• Identify production barriers and escalate safety/quality concerns to leadership.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support CI/CORE activities.
