Mid-Level Systems Engineer

Job Description Janus Soft is seeking an elite Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join Project UUE in Tysons, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing critical application infrastructure across all networks. You will implement robust system architectures, drive CI/CD automation, enforce application security compliance, and ensure high availability across complex environments. As a vital technical asset, you will collaborate with cross-functional development and management teams, assess emerging technologies, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to safeguard mission-critical national security operations.

Mandatory Skills

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) alongside 2+ years of systems engineering, testing, or DevOps experience.

Core Technical Stack: Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).

CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and integrating automated testing tools to improve system efficiency.

Operations & Compliance: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, application security compliance standards, and willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call operational rotation.

Desired Skills

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, such as Terraform or Ansible.
