Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to perform skilled maintenance on heavy industrial equipment and facilities. The role involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, working with AC/DC controls, PLCs, pneumatics, and up to 480 volts, and managing minor projects in a fast-paced Midwest distribution environment.

Ideal candidates will read technical manuals, follow safety protocols, and document all work orders in the CMMS.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage, AC and DC.
  • Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance activities (patching walls, lights, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Document labor, parts, and inventory in the CMMS and close work orders.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures.

The Role The Maintenance Tech IIperforms a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, modification and repair activities in assigned maintenance operational areas which may include buildings, conveyors, electrical and performs related work as required. The job will entail preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position will be working with AC/DC controls, PLC controlled equipment, pneumatics and with voltage of up to 480 volts. Manage minor projects. Provide training to lower grade levels. Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance activities including patching and painting walls, patching floors, replacing lights, repair racking, office furniture moves, and setups and other facilities related tasks. Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities to include troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on conveyor equipment. Document all work order activities including labor, parts and inventory used and closing of work orders to provide documented records of the maintenance performed. Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as required.

Who You Are
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics and blueprints
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage, AC and DC
  • Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • We’d love to hear from people with Complete pass down logs to inform co-workers of the operational status of the facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair controls, process controllers, control cabinets, power supplies and all other field devices associated with the conveyor system.
  • Use system software to troubleshoot, trend and monitor conveyor equipment.
  • Develop and implement innovative ideas to increase productivity and/or reliability.
  • Enter data in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Perform minor electrical work such as running conduit and pulling wire.
  • Perform analytical tests on the various conveyor systems and document results.
  • Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices)
  • Experience working effectively under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Regarded as a system expert in at least one area (i.e. Pick Module, VAS, Shipping Sorter)
  • Highly motivated, a team player and a self-starter
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with co-workers and managers in a cooperative constructive manner
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others
  • Strong project planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance is a plus
  • Conversational Spanish skills a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Word programs
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced work environment that has a strong customer focus

  • $27.74 - $32.26 The salary range posted reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in: US - IN US8 Midwest Distribution Center Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
