Job summary

Artist House in New York seeks an A&R to drive discovery and signing while supporting the creative process after an artist is signed. This 50/50 role balances identifying talent with hands-on development during recording sessions.

You will research artists using streaming data and analytics, refine scouting tools, and build strong relationships with artists and their teams, shaping musical direction through feedback on songs, performances, and production.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in A&R, artist development, music research, or a related role.
• Strong musical taste and knowledge of the music landscape across genres.
• Excellent listening and communication skills with artists.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging talent using streaming data, social analytics and growth-tier tracking.
• Refine and use internal scouting tools to monitor artist signals across platforms.
• Build trusted relationships with roster artists and teams; shape their musical direction.
• Provide feedback on songwriting, vocal performances and production during development.
• Identify and connect artists with producers, songwriters and collaborators; plan sessions.
• Guide records from demos through recording, mixing and mastering with leadership.
• Navigate creative decisions and move projects toward completion.
• Collaborate with Creative, Marketing and Operations to align priorities and timelines.
