Job summary

StandardAero in Houston is hiring an A&P Mechanic III (Airframe) for the 2nd shift to support maintenance and inspection of business jet aircraft. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, remove/ reinstall engines, run and test components, and ensure compliance with FAA and OEM standards.

Qualified candidates have an FAA A&P license, 5–7 years of airframe experience on biz jets, and are comfortable with a Tuesday–Friday 1:30 PM–12:00 AM schedule.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • FAA A&P license (Airframe & Powerplant).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5–7 years of airframe maintenance on business jets.
  • Second shift: Tue–Fri, 1:30 PM–12:00 AM (overtime possible).

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on business jet airframes and systems.
  • Remove and reinstall engines for inspection and maintenance.
  • Conduct engine runs, checks, and leak tests to verify serviceability.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, landing gear, and flight control systems.
  • Document work clearly per StandardAero procedures.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
  • Adhere to FAA and OEM directives and safety standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on business jet airframes and systems.
  • Remove and reinstall turbofan and turboprop engines for inspection and maintenance.
  • Conduct operational checks, engine runs, and leak checks to verify serviceability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, landing gear, flight control, and other airframe systems.
  • Evaluate removed components for serviceability; document and resolve discrepancies.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical data.
  • Perform fuel tank sealing and other specialized structural tasks as required.
  • Accomplish Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives in accordance with FAA and OEM standards.
  • Document all work performed clearly, accurately, and in compliance with StandardAero procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards in a professional MRO setting.
Position Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience performing airframe maintenance on corporate or business aviation aircraft (Learjet, Embraer, Hawker, Challenger, Falcon).
  • Available to work 2nd shift (Tuesday–Friday, 1:30 PM–12:00 AM), with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams.
  • Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in physically demanding conditions.
Preferred Characteristics
  • Experience in an MRO or military depot environment.
  • Factory-authorized training on assigned aircraft or engines.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently while supporting team goals.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
