Job summary

Role Description

The A&P Maintenance Technician performs scheduledinspections, routine service, troubleshooting, modifications, and complexmaintenance and repair activities on various aircraft types. This positionserves as a technical resource to the maintenance team, providing technicalguidance, on-the-job training, and mentorship to less-experienced technicianswhile ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently,and in accordance with approved technical data and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform scheduled inspections, routineservicing, troubleshooting, modifications, and complex maintenance and repairactivities on various aircraft types.
  • Provide technical guidance, on-the-jobtraining, and instruction to junior technicians regarding maintenanceprocedures, troubleshooting techniques, tooling, and acceptable maintenancepractices.
  • Complete all assigned maintenance activitiesin accordance with work orders, incoming inspections, manufacturer servicebulletins, CAMP cards, maintenance programs, and other approved technicaldocumentation.
  • Perform advanced aircraft maintenance andmodification activities, including structural or interior modifications,corrosion repairs, landing gear removal and installation, engine removals, andother complex maintenance tasks within the technician's qualifications andauthorization.
  • Interpret and apply aircraft maintenancemanuals, engineering data, service bulletins, drawings, work instructions,Comlux Repair Station Manual (RSM), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), andother applicable technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems andmaintenance discrepancies and develop appropriate solutions using approvedmaintenance practices and technical data.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is properlydocumented and signed off in accordance with company procedures, regulatoryrequirements, and applicable inspection requirements.
  • Partner with Quality and Inspectionpersonnel to ensure compliance with internal quality standards, FAArequirements, inspection requirements, and maintenance documentationprocedures.
  • Perform component removal and installationactivities and ensure required documentation, identification, and traceabilityrequirements are completed accurately.
  • Conduct functional and operational tests toevaluate aircraft system performance, reliability, and proper operationfollowing maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate effective maintenance and repairtechniques, including proper use of tooling, equipment, and approvedmaintenance practices.
  • Mentor and support junior-level techniciansby providing hands-on instruction, technical guidance, and feedback to improvetheir knowledge, skills, and overall performance.
  • Ensure assigned maintenance activities arecompleted efficiently and within established schedule requirements whilemaintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Identify potential maintenance, safety,quality, or schedule issues and communicate them to the appropriate Lead,Supervisor, or Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workenvironment and ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment,tooling, and safety equipment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicableaircraft systems, maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements, and companypolicies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required;Associate's Degree or technical certificate in Aviation Maintenance preferred.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressiveaircraft maintenance experience and/or training in the business aviation,corporate aviation, commercial aviation, or military environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing complexaircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, modifications, or repairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, andunderstand aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams,work instructions, and other technical documentation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, andunderstand the English language.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain requiredcompany and regulatory training and qualifications.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft maintenancepractices, inspection procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and aircraftsystems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability totroubleshoot complex maintenance issues.
  • Ability to independently perform complexmaintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technicalguidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to less-experienced technicians.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations andcompany maintenance procedures applicable to aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and applyaircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering data, drawings,and other technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of proper tooling,equipment, and maintenance practices required to perform aircraft maintenancesafely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with ademonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective verbal and written communicationskills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-makingskills.
  • Ability to work independently whileeffectively collaborating with Quality, Inspection, Engineering, Planning, andother maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance tasksand priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor juniortechnicians and contribute to the development of the maintenance team.

This position is based in an aircraft hangarenvironment and may involve:
