Job summary

The University of Dubuque Aviation Department seeks an experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician with a valid A&P license to inspect, maintain and repair UD aircraft, including Cessna Skyhawks and Piper Seminoles. Work follows FAA regulations and UD standards, ensuring airworthiness and flight readiness.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with maintenance staff, directors, and flight center personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; A&P certificate required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Flexibility with schedule; possible on-call or weekends.
• Willingness to work overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair general aviation aircraft per FAA regs and UD standards.
• Prepare and complete necessary documentation and maintenance logs.
• Support maintenance of UD aircraft like Cessna Skyhawks and Piper Seminoles.
• Coordinate with flight center staff to resolve maintenance discrepancies.
• Assist with training of incoming work-study staff and equipment upkeep.
