Job summary

AIM—the Aviation Institute of Maintenance—seeks Aircraft Maintenance Instructors (A&P mechanics) to join our Norfolk program. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to aspiring technicians in classroom and hangar settings.

No prior teaching experience required; we offer a 5-day paid instructor training program. We offer competitive hourly pay up to $36 and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for qualified AMTs, with full-time schedules in Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
