Job summary

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Hasbrouck Heights is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor for a part‑time role. You will deliver FAA Part 147–aligned curriculum and provide hands‑on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of maintenance experience, hold an FAA A&P certificate, and can teach evenings or weekends. We offer competitive hourly pay, benefits, and a 5‑day paid instructor training program.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on setting.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical maintenance skills used by AMTs.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and student progress records.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
• Maintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials.
