AIM’s Hasbrouck Heights campus is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic) to train the next generation of FAA-certified mechanics in our Part 147 program. You will teach both in the hangar and in the classroom, delivering FAA-aligned instruction and mentoring students, including transitioning military technicians.

The role offers a 5-day paid instructor training program, a strong veteran-friendly culture, and opportunities to grow with AIM’s nationwide aviation education network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA Part 147-aligned aircraft maintenance curriculum in classroom and hangar environments.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is hiring Aircraft Maintenance Instructors at our Hasbrouck Heights campus to train the next generation of FAA-certified mechanics in our Part 147 program. Whether you spent your career on a flight line, in a hangar, or supporting heavy maintenance operations, you've built skills that are irreplaceable — and we provide a structured 5-day paid instructor training program to help you successfully transition into the classroom.

AIM has trained thousands of aviation maintenance technicians, including many transitioning service members. As an instructor here,you'llwork alongside fellow veterans and former civilian mechanics, teaching students who often include current service members and recent veterans using their GI Bill benefits.

No teaching experiencerequired. Our 5-day paid instructor training program is designed to help technical professionals — including those coming out of military aviation roles — successfully move into instructional work.

About the Role

Asan AircraftMaintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor),you'lldeliverFAAPart 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction in classroom and active hangar environments. This role is well-suited to military-trained aviation maintainers with civilian A&P certification who want a stable, mission-oriented next chapter.

Schedule Options

• Option 2: Evening shift: Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm EST & Friday ~ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EST

Key Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification
