Job summary

AIM’s Hasbrouck Heights campus is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic) to train the next generation of FAA-certified mechanics in our Part 147 program. You will teach both in the hangar and in the classroom, delivering FAA-aligned instruction and mentoring students, including transitioning military technicians.

The role offers a 5-day paid instructor training program, a strong veteran-friendly culture, and opportunities to grow with AIM’s nationwide aviation education network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA Part 147-aligned aircraft maintenance curriculum in classroom and hangar environments.
• Deliver hands-on instruction and supervise students toward A&P certification.
• Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Help create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
• Maintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials.
